Page 5 Vivisection is a religion not a science Far back in the middle ages human dissection was outlawed by the church. Therefore apart from William Harvey proving that blood circulated around the body by the use of a ligature on his own arm, it has also been stated by eminent doctors of the day that using a cadaver or human subject was the only way to prove this theory. Therefore it was religious dogma just as today that hold all things human holy, which stopped progress in human anatomy and physiology. Practicing surgery using animals has been outlawed since 1890 in England it is therefore safe to assume that Harvey’s claims of using animals in his discovery were based on fear of incrimination of going against the church and the inevitable consequences i.e. death. Since those days Vivisection has became a religion not a science The High Priests of vivisection Indeed use the same ritualistic terminology as in the days of superstition and worshipping idols of gold i.e. sacrificing an animal after vivisection. Today the idol of gold is their bank balances and glory. To hide the vile and cruel procedures’ ( another word used to mask suffering in animals). The wording of any experiments is wrapped up in ritual so as to make it impossible for the general public to understand what has actually been done and to hide the vile crimes committed.. In a radio debate back in the late 1990’s an undercover laboratory technician gave evidence that devocalisation ( this means burning out the vocal chords out of animals so that they cannot scream) was still taking place in Britain even though it is illegal. Feldberg an eminent vivisector and head of his department had been carrying out experiments that had already been done on animals many years before And which the results of, were already known. It took an undercover investigation to bring this to light. The Boston Globe reports about the worst case of scientific fraud to come to light. Dr. Eric Poehlman, a star among obesity researchers, faces jail time. He overstated the effects of menopause on women’s health and admitted fabricating data in 17 federal grants applications. For a period of 10 years—from 1992-2002, he made up research results which were published in medical journals. Dr. Poehlman left the University of Vermont under the cloud of an investigation, only to be hired as an endowed professor at the University of Montreal. Boston Globe, March 18th 2005 We can provide literature which challenges the case against vivisection. In the near future we will be working on data bases which will be available to animal rights activists and the public.
