Page 2 Why Animal Experiments continue Although animal experiments have nothing to do with real science or worthwhile clinical practice the vested interests have allied themselves to Universities and medical establishments who they rule through fear of being ostracized and loss of livelihood as the pharmaceutical empire dictates the funding of such establishments. Many people have a vested interest in maintaining the fraud of animal experiments they include: The people who make a living from animal experiments including doctors, scientists, laboratory staff who would lose their jobs, and many of their qualifications won on the back of animal experiments and scientific papers would then be useless. Universities whose funding relies on animal experimentation not only for vivisection but to keep other departments going whose funding is low. The charities who fund animal experiments and would be severely embarrassed by having to admit that animal experiments were useless and therefore lose face with the public meaning a drying up of funds and donations. The industries who supply animal food The people who make the cages and restraining devices needed to carry out painful experiments on animals. The government who get revenue because improperly tested drugs are allowed to get onto the market quickly. The various pro vivisection societies who survive because of funding from Pharmaceutical companies. The pharmaceutical companies themselves who have to satisfy shareholders and inevitably share prices would fall because of lack of confidence in the market. The FDA would also lose face because the regulatory body insists on animal experiments before they are marked to the public and who draw vivisectors to their ranks from the pharmaceutical industry
